WEIRD: The Completely Revamped Series by Root KidMin!
W.E.I.R.D. – It’s time to be weird and live out the life God has for us! In order for us to do that, we need to understand who God has created us and how He desires and has equipped us to live.
Here’s a sneak peek of all the info that is given to our Root KidMin Members:
W.E.I.R.D is a series (and acronym) where we break down what it means to stand out for Christ in this world! Each week the kids will learn another letter and what that letter means.
Don’t Give away what the letters mean in W.E.I.R.D.!!!
Build up the anticipation of discovering each letter week by week and encourage them to try and guess what it could be but they have to come back next week to find out each one!
This series has a similar look to a book series many elementary kids read- “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. Our kids around us LOVE it and so it sparked an idea! Have fun with it and read the narrations with enthusiasm and inflection! You may want to sell some of those books in your Prize Redemption Store – the kids would love that! See below for a link to purchase some at Amazon.
If we want what the world has we should live the way that the world says to live, if we want what God says we can have we should live the way that the word says to live!
- Create a W.E.I.R.D. Series book on stage – The bigger the better! You’ll be doing this series for two months, so you’ll be able to use anything you create for eight weeks! Or create little weird booklets for the kids to take notes in!!! Give away tickets if they turn their booklet in the last week!!!
- Make “wimpy” characters of your volunteers to put in the Keynote- they would LOVE this!!!
- Also, change whatever you can to be WEIRD!!! That could be changing the way you check-in, seat the kids, hang out times, or whatever!

Kids will love to buy the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books while in this series – We searched bulk book places, but Amazon still beat their prices, unless you were ordering 100+ books. So, here’s the link to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Book 1 on Amazon:
Lastly, the whole thing began when we started reading Craig Groeschel’s book, WEIRD. It’s a fantastic book, and really will help you look at life differently, and potentially challenge you in some areas! I can’t say enough – you should get this book!
